The Old Schoolmaster’s House at Edenvale, Pinjarra, has been home to the Murray Districts Historical Society since early 2012. This four roomed teacher’s cottage, which faces St. John’s Church and the Heritage Rose Garden, was built in 1896 at the same time as the nearby Old Schoolhouse.

The Murray District Historical Society is a not for profit organisation served by hard working volunteers who collect, record, preserve, promote and share the local history of the area. Where better a place for the Society to call home than the Old Schoolmaster’s House. The Old Schoolmaster’s House has been home to the Society since 2012 and is a four roomed teacher’s cottage built in 1896 and faces the St John’s Church and Heritage Rose Garden. The Society’s collection is constantly growing showcasing Pinjarra’s social, commercial and agricultural past as well as the Edenvale Heritage Precinct’s story – if you are visiting on a weekend, drop in where these passionate volunteers will be more than happy to share some of our local history with you!
