Hotham Valley Forest Train
Explore The Forest Line
The historic Dwellingup Forest Train will take you 8 Kilometres eastward from Dwellingup to Etmilyn, along the state's last surviving lightly built developmental railway. Different from the Steam Ranger, the Forest Train is operated by V Class Diesel Locomotives built in the late 1940's. Just like 'Thomas The Tank Engine' there is a train for every purpose in Dwellingup. Why not ride them all?
Quick facts
Upon departing Dwellingup the pace is leisurely as the train rolls along eastward towards Etmilyn, along the state's last surviving lightly build developmental railway. At the end of the line enjoy a 20-25 minute walk trail through the beautiful plant life and seasonal wildflowers of the rare Jarrah Forest and end your adventure with a leisurely train ride back to the Dwellingup station.
"Lovely ride through the forest. When the train stops to turn the Loco around, you get a chance to take a short forest walk. "
