Kids bored?  Need to burn some energy? Look no further than the adventure filled Pinjarra.  Head to one of the awesome playgrounds and let the kids run wild! There's plenty of fun to be had in this beautiful country town.

Cantwell Park in Pinjarra is a brilliant stop on your way down the South West Highway, or just head there for a great day out.  This huge park is right in the heart of town, on the banks of the Murray River, with plenty of space for the kids to let off some steam while you relax under one of the many mature trees.

The flying fox is a hit, as is the huge climbing frame, swings, mini boats and there’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained too.  The park features a dedicated toddler play area, with small slide and lots of sensory play.  Cantwell Park truly has something for all ages, and you could easily spend a few hours here.

Bring a picnic, or there are plenty of BBQ facilities, water fountain and accessible toilets.  A short walk from the playground is arguably Pinjarra’s most photographed attraction, the Pinjarra Suspension Bridge, and from here you will find yourself in the centre of Pinjarra.

Didn’t bring a picnic?  Then pop in to one of the many family friendly eateries and cafes, Jarra Infusion has a lovely alfresco dining area, which includes a small sand pit to keep the littlies busy, and has access through a side gate which makes it perfect for juggling the toddler and pram at the same time.

Or head to the Edenvale Heritage Tea Rooms, within the Heritage Precinct, famous for its scones and fantastic coffee.  Dine out the back of the old Homestead or takeaway and let the kids roam the gardens to their hearts content.

Just when you thought playgrounds couldn’t’ get any better, along comes Adventurescape (or Piggy Park) to the locals.  Kids love the 8.5 metre climbing windmill tower and slide, 35 metre flying fox, rope climbing challenge and a giant pig!  There is even a lake, which you can wade and splash around in on a hot day.  The BBQ area is large and shady or pop across to the local IGA which has a range of sandwiches and hot food options.

Looking for some fun, which is a little educational too? Then Ranger Redz Zoo and Conservation Park is the place.  One of the best boutique zoos in WA, their Tasmanian Devil breeding program is the most successful in Australia.

As you walk through the gates expect a hands on experience.  You will be greeted by one of their awesome team of volunteers or very friendly peacocks.  Visitors are encouraged to pat a bettong, a ferret or even hold a snake!  Holding a snake not to your liking? With over 150 different species of native and exotic animals, you won’t miss out.  Hand feed the kangaroos and wallabies and enter the open aviary who are just as friendly as the rest of the locals in Pinjarra.

Open 7 days a week, Redz Zoo is the perfect place for a family morning out, and being accessible, is suitable for wheelchairs, walkers and prams.  Don’t forget to invite the grandparents for a fun filled day for the whole family!
